Dr. Elaine C. Stephens
Elaine Stephens, educator and author, has spent her life sharing her love of reading and writing. Earning a Ph.D. from Michigan State University, she taught from preschool to graduate school. She was a professional development consultant and a university professor, receiving awards for excellence in teaching, leadership, and scholarship. Elaine has written numerous articles and co-authored ten books on literacy, historical connections, and young adult literature. Her passion lies in encouraging and nurturing youth to become lifelong readers and writers. Elaine is an advocate for equity for women and girls and supports progressive endeavors. She has lived and worked in Michigan, New Jersey, and Taiwan and currently resides in South Haven.
